Starting on the 21st of May a team of 10 Veteran Kingfishers will be covering a distance of 72 kiles (or approximately 46 miles) between Doncaster and Digby. This “Kingfisher Walk” , planned and led by Stuart Johnstone is being conducted in aid of raising funds for Alzheimers research. This is an illness that has unfortunately affected a few of our members over the years.
The objective is to cover this distance in within 24 hours and there is still one place remaining on the adventure for any brave walker or ex-Nijmegen marchers out here!
There is a charge of £15 for entry which will be donated to Association funds.
However, for this donation the walkers will each receive a goody (Gizzit) bag with a value of over £50, so that is quite the bargain! It includes unique 591 SU items and useful bits for the walk. I mean, just look at those great looking bags below…
It’s hoped the walking Team will arrive in Digby in time for a roll and bacon. So if any of this makes you want to join the walk and take up that last slot, please get in touch!
